Imgiebah
Mellieha
Level: Basic to IntermediateDuration: Leasurely 4 to 5 hrs. Best start in the morning.
The starting point of this trek is Ghadira Bay, just below the city of Mellieha. We hike along the coast and pass Ras Il-Griebeg, then we proceed to Imgiebh Bay beach where it is possible to swim. We continue on a path under the Redin Tower to Għajn Ħadid Beach and further down to Blata il-Bajda where we explore the white limestone area and salt pans. We then proceed passing St.Paul's island to Rdum il-Biez where we can descend to sea level. Swimming is possible and very nice in this bay. Back on track, we turn around Ras il-Mignuna and arrive to the old Mistra battery underneat the abandoned Fort Campbell and climb up the hill, pass the sinkhole at Rdum Rxawn, proceed above Dahlet il-Fekruna and arrive at "St Joseph The Worker" Church.
Both starting and ending points are close to Bus stops along the Cirkewwa-Mellieha-Bugibba-Valletta lines.

Sneak Preview
Depending on the season and weather conditions, we might be just as lucky to enjoy such a beautiful sky and clouds and perhaps enjoy a swim in one of the beaches we pass.
WHAT YOU NEED:
For this hike of about 9Km wear good hiking boots; a long sleave shirt and long pants will prevent your beautiful skin from scratching against the rocks and occasional small thorns: nature didn't plan for us to be here.

Bring plenty of water and a light snack (nuts, cookies) in a small back pack or side saddle. Don't forget your camera if you want to bring home your own spectacular images. A beach towel and dry change of clothes might be a good idea too depending on how much weight you want to carry around.
