all about hypnosis
Hypnosis can simply be defined as a state of heightened receptivity in which you are able to refocus your mind and body for success. It is an integrative process to rebuild habits and behaviors as well as emotions, beliefs and feelings.
Have you ever found yourself completely immersed in an activity to the exclusion of everything else? This is a natural trance state. Common examples of this are while watching a movie and getting paralyzed in the plot. Or working hard and finding that the last four hours have flown by without your conscious awareness. Maybe you read a book and were so stunned that you didn't hear someone come in and talk to you. Maybe they surprised or "woke" you from the mood and had to repeat their greeting.
Hypnosis is a natural state that you have already experienced thousands of times. It is not manipulation, mind control or magic. It is simply a tool that will allow you to tap into the power of your mind and take control of your life.
CAN ANYONE BE HYPNOTIZED?
Yes! Anyone willing to be hypnotized can experience the state. When you work with an experienced practitioner, the techniques and program will be customized for you. My clients report that they reach status easily and can use it for their continued success long after the sessions are over.

HYPNOSIS or HYPNOTHERAPY?
Words are interchangeable and no title is better than the other. Almost all major hypnosis organizations offer their graduates who complete the training courses the option to choose the degree they want.
There is an ongoing legislative issue that has everything to do with the word "therapy" and nothing to do with the word "hypnosis". This is a question of title protection. Many forms of therapy are licensed. There is no licensing program for hypnotists in the US, UK, Canada, or Australia. Training and regulation are managed by private organizations. Again, the choice between "hypnotist" or "hypnotherapist" is most often a student checking a box on a membership application form.
Many of my clients have informed me that they began their search by looking for a "hypnotist" rather than a "hypnotherapist" as they may have previously followed a path and been successful. I appreciate the sentiment, even if it is an unfair comparison as, once again, the words are interchangeable and the same.
WILL I LOSE CONTROL?
No. Hypnosis is a state of mind that requires consent. You will be aware of what I say during the session and you will not be able to do it against your own morals. You can't be forced to tell secrets while trying hypnosis.
A common misconception about hypnosis implies that a potential client thinks they may be "too strong-willed" to be hypnotized. In fact, it is just the opposite. The stronger your ability to focus and focus, the faster and easier you will enter hypnosis.
WILL I SLEEP'? Hopefully... No. Contrary to popular belief, hypnosis is actually a heightened state of awareness. The hypnotized subject is aware of his surroundings. You will hear cars outside or even voices from the next room, confirming that you are alert and in control the entire time. I also employ a number of techniques that use post-hypnotic cues and you will remember everything that happened during your session.
IS HYPNOSIS DANGEROUS?
Hypnosis is a natural ability of the mind that we all experience on a daily basis. The use of hypnosis was recognized by the American Medical Association in 1958. It is completely safe when practiced by an experienced and professional hypnotist. It is only dangerous if you drive or operate machinery, so hypnosis audio products should not be heard in those circumstances. There hasn't been a documented case of hypnosis that has harmed a person.
WHAT DOES IT FEEL LIKE?
Although by definition, hypnosis is NOT a relaxed state, but because many issues are related to stress or anxiety, we often create a deeply relaxed state to help make changes. Most people report feeling very relaxed or pleasantly lethargic. Many customers are surprised at how "normal" the experience is, as many have been conditioned by movies or television to think there is a "magical feeling" that suddenly overwhelms you.
Your mind will be alert and perceptive of the suggestions it is receiving. Your focus will be directly on your experience or the words of the suggestions you are receiving.
I HAVE A FRIEND WHO TRIED TO HYPNOSIS AND TOLD ME IT WON'T WORK - WHAT HAPPENED?
The success of your experience depends on two factors: the client's willingness to change and the skills of the hypnotist. If the client does not have a sincere desire for change, such as a smoker who sees a hypnotist only at the urging of a spouse, he is not ready to accept suggestions for positive change. If, however, the smoker is fed up with the habit and no longer wants cigarettes to be a part of his life, he is ready for success. Hypnosis is not a "one size fits all" process. I will design a custom process to help you achieve your goals.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?
Quick change is possible with hypnosis. Most of my clients have a short series of sessions, as my goal is to provide you with the most effective hypnotic process in the most efficient use of your time. This model allows for an effective series of sessions with continuous reinforcement, self-hypnosis training and customization tailored to your unique needs.
Most people start experiencing benefits from the first session, although hypnosis is a process.
